Remote Connection via LAN or Internet

"Direct Connection" mode enables you to connect to the remote computer using its IP address or a DNS name. This connection mode makes remote control possible both via LAN and via Internet.
Note: For a successful connection the Host computer should have a static external IP address and proper firewall or router configurations (read more below).

How it works

With Direct Connection, Anyplace Control must be installed on two different computers (one, the Admin module and one, the Host module) for a minimum setup.
You need to add either the IP address or the DNS name of the Host computer into the address book of the Admin module.
If both computers are located in the same LAN you do not need the IP address of the computer you want to control, you can simply select a computer from your Network Places list.

If both your computers are located in the same LAN, you will not have connectivity problems (except with firewalls if you use them). In most cases you can connect via the Internet also. In all other cases follow the procedures described below:

Dynamical IP addresses
Depending on the Internet provider, your computer can get a permanently changing IP address. This type of address is called 'dynamic', and is typical from almost every Internet access provider. If you want to connect to remote computer, but don't know its current IP address, it will be difficult to establishing direct connection.

Internal IP addresses
It is a common situation that the computer you want to control is located in a corporate or home LAN (behind a router). As a rule computers which are situated in LAN, have only internal IP address like 192.168.x.x. This address is valid in a separate LAN only. Problems with Firewall activity
Firewalls can restrict both external and internal connections from ports 5279 and 4279 so you have to open them.
